1979 - 85 studies at the Deutsche Film-und Fernsehakademie in Berlin
1981 - 83 acting studies with Vladimir and Cornelia Rodzianko
Since 1985 at work on her own films as director and producer, work as photographer and journalist
Since 2000 co-organizer of the monthly "Filmsamstag" ("Film Saturday", www.filmsamstag.de) at Filmkunsthaus Babylon in Berlin.
Bärbel Freund's films have been screened at numerous festivals.
The artist lives and works in Berlin.
