Since 1981 Karl Heil has been living and working as a freelance filmmaker, actor, projectionist, and journalist in Berlin.
Since 2001 he has been a member of the curatorial group "Filmsamstag" ("Film Saturday", www.filmsamstag.de) at the Filmkunsthaus Babylon, Berlin.
