born 1962 in Halle/Saale, Germany.
Studied at the School of Applied Arts Schneeberg (Germany) and German literature and philology in Leipzig, Budapest and Vienna. In 1992 he completed his PhD on The Vienna Group. Olaf Nicolai has participated in numerous exhibitions and has been awarded several grants. He lives and works in Berlin. Rodakis is his first 35mm film.
