In September of 2007 Pente and Wheeler co-organized the symposium-festival, “A Body Is as a Body Isn’t: Virtual Bodies” at fabrik Potsdam after their six-month residency there, with performances, lectures, films, installations and videos around the theme of ‘virtuality’. Stefan Pente has been awarded various studio and production grants in Germany and abroad, including the Swiss Eidgenössischer Kunstpreis.

Together with William Wheeler Pente formed the arts production unit smoking mirror.
