Steffen Ramlow

born in Berlin in 1974.
In 1993 nine-month stay in Wolgograd, Russia.
1994 lighting and stage assistant with Fred Pommerehn and TJUS Theater Wolgograd.
From 1995 to 1997 works as an independent photographer, cameraman and lighting designer for various theaters and off-theater groups, among others at the Hebbel-Theater Berlin, TJUS Theater Wolgograd, Theater am Halleschen Ufer, Kampnagel Hamburg, Hevel Bavel Dance Kompanie.
1997 group exhibition at Urban Dialogues; film installation PRIVJET at Littenbunker Berlin.
In 1998 begins his studies in visual communications at the Universität der Künste (UDK), Berlin; in 2000 he also takes up studies in experimental media at the Universität der Künste. In the same year he founds the gallery and art space LICHTSCHLIFF – bilder & töne – berlin (www.lichtschliff.de). Works as curator and exhibition organizer. In 2001 publication of the photo book "Der Taktstock", Zsolnay Verlag. Various exhibitions follow, including at the Cologne Opera and the Nordischen Musiktagen.
In 2004 graduation in experimental film and media at the UDK Berlin, development of the art project "soundseeing," a literary-acoustic tour through the Prenzlauerberg district of Berlin.
Steffen Ramlow lives and works as a filmmaker, video artist and freelance photographer in Berlin.
