DV, color, sound, 4:40 Min.

This piece came out of a workshop I did with Susanne Sachsse for teenagers on video making. The process involving the computer crashing was utilized again to fragment the frame. The neighborhood where we shot is Lichtenberg, which is very interesting for many reasons. First is how it was used in the days of East Germany. It had several areas largely populated with members of the secret police, many of who still live in the same apartments. Also it had a very large Soviet Russian village within it, now walled shut and rotting. Today it sees neo Nazi activity as well as a sizable immigrant population. All of these factors make it by turns a lonely, frightening, and at times poetic place. This piece is a meditation on an environment.
