The peaceful life of a Georgian village is suddenly disrupted by disaster in the form of the Second World War. Even though the front is far away, the death of sons and brothers brings pain and loss, and dreams are destroyed forever. However, for two people, the whole world can be reduced to just the two of them and the affection they have for each other - the orphan Sosoia and the blind Khatia are devoted to each other. The sun becomes a symbol of hope: as long as Khatia can see it, there is a chance of healing. Lana Gogoberidze adapted Nodar Dumbadze's novella with great sensitivity and lyrical, light images.
