The Instagram photo of a mattress in a Kyiv subway station shortly after the war began: On a blanket lies the book I Had Nowhere to Go, in which Jonas Mekas described his war experiences. The reading will be followed by the screening of MA (Maria Stoianova, UKR 2017), the video diary of a Ukrainian mother from Mariupol who reports on her everyday wartime life to her daughter in faraway Kyiv, as well as excerpts from Mekas' internet diary, the 356 DAY PROJECT (2007).
