Forum Expanded Show: Openings

The 5th edition of Forum Expanded starts with numerous exhibition openings. On the 10th of February the first group exhibition already opens at the Akademie der Künste. The grand opening of the Hamburger Bahnhof as well as the "Auto-Kino" in the Temporäre Kunsthalle takes place at the 11th. On the 12th both the Filmhaus and many galleries start with their programme.

The opening of the group exhibition "Traces the Sand Left in the Machine" with works from Christian Giroux, Daniel Young, Angela Melitopoulos & Maurizio Lazzarato, João Maria Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, Brigitta Kuster and James Benning takes place at the Akademie der Künste on Wedenesday, 10th between 6-9 pm.

"Das Auto-Kino!" in the Temporäre Kunsthallle offers daily shows of  Ilona Baltrusch's and Telémacos Alexiou's works at 4pm starting on Thursday, 11th. 

Likewise the exhibition opening of The Formative Years with seven early films by Heinz Emigholz takes place at the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart between 5-7 pm.

Finally, on Friday, 12th, the opening of the work Cinema City by Madhusree Dutta takes place at the Kino Arsenal and the Rotem Foyer. Further works of the project can be seen at the Cubix Kino and the Delphi Filmpalast.

Other exhibition openings on Friday are: Phil Collins soy mi madre at the DAADGALERIE, Unehebe at Galerie Barbara Weiss, The Meaning of Everything at the Tanya Leighton Gallery and The Film Effect at the Marshal McLuhan Salon of the Canadian Embassy. All openings take place between 6-9 pm.

With the so-called lobby the artists Martin Beck, Joerg Franzbecker, Heiko Karn and Katrin Mayer created a space with a bar at the Foyer of the Filmhaus, which invites the guests to stay during the day. The bar opens daily at 11.30 a.m. Like in the past years the b_books shop has a stand with an assortment of books and movies for sale.
