Vaginal Davis presents: Rising Stars, Falling Stars – We Must Have Music!

SKIDOO!, 1968

Otto Preminger's SKIDOO! from 1968 shows hippiedom of the best possible kind: drug highs, free love, body painting. Alongside Jackie Gleason and Carol Channing, the first black supermodel Donyale Luna can also be seen as God's "girlfriend", with God himself played by Groucho Marx. Youth rebellion that takes place in a bizarre mixture of happening, gangster comedy and musical. How this well-worn copy was able to find its way into the Arsenal collection is the subject of wild speculation – film expert Vaginal Davis will present her own theory to this end in her introduction.
