Cafer, a Turkish metalworker, brings his family from the village to Germany. He is convinced that Germany is the land of unlimited opportunities and that the family will be rescued from poverty. However, the new life brings many difficulties and unexpected things - his wife is involved in the women's movement and changes externally and mentally due to the influence of comrade friends, the older son is lonely and does not want to go to school, the daughter has to stay at home and take care of her newborn brother. With its left-wing, political view of labour migration, KARA KAFA stands out from many other examples of German-Turkish cinema.
