Han-Shik, der von der Schule flog, und Yong-Seung, der als Waisenkind aufgewachsen ist und sein Selbstmitleid im Alkohol ertränkt, arbeiten in einer Wäscherei und schikanieren ihre ausländischen Kollegen. Doch in Wirklichkeit geht es ihnen nicht besser als den illegalen Einwanderern. Ein Unfall läßt allen plötzlich klarwerden, daß sie mehr miteinander zu tun haben, als sie sich eingestehen. ''Ein Versuch, unser Bewußtsein für das System der Diskriminierung und Ignoranz, das uns umgibt, zu schärfen und zu zeigen, daß eine Welt ohne Barrikaden ein besseres Leben bedeutet.''	Han Shik is a former college-bound 'intellectual' who became a worker after treatment of his father's illness drained away his college funds. He works with Yong-Sung, bully and foreman of the laundry shop. Together they manage Khan, Jocky and Puto, all foreign workers from South East Asia. For each of the workers, the laundry is an unpleasant stop on the way towards a secure and happier future. Each of them has put up racial and class barriers which isolate them, protecting them from each other and reality. A sudden accident at the laundry, however, makes them realize they all share more they like to admit. ''In a way we all promote discrimination and ignorance. Barricade attemps to raise our consciousness by revealing our innermost feelings, showing us that a world without barricades will be a better place to live.'' Yoon In-Ho
