| Ein Zeitbild der bundesdeutschen Gesellschaft in den Sechzigern: das Jahr 1969. Die Studentenbewegung ist in vollem Gang. Ein Ulmer Studentenkollektiv beginnt, das Filmprojekt 'Auf der Suche nach dem Glück' zu realisieren. Das sind u.a. die Kindergärtnerin Doris und der Bauhilfsarbeiter Robert. Kleinbürgerliche Biografien und revolutionäre Subjekte suchte sich das Filmteam, gedreht wurde an Originalschauplätzen mit Laien, Dokumentarisches vermischte sich mit Fiktivem. Aus dem umfangreichen Material sind bis heute ein Kurzfilm und mit Zwickel auf Bizykel nun ein zweiter Spielfilm entstanden. | ''During our studies at the Ulm Film Institute we had already tried out collective approaches to filmmaking and, as soon as the first funding arrived we decided to go ahead and make this film. We chose to adopt a semi-documentary approach, using original locations and complete amateurs, chosen because they worked in the professions mentioned in the script. We filmed and filmed and, in the end, we had exposed vast amounts of film stock. And so two feature films were created. One of them, Am Ama am Amazonas, managed to make it as far as an optical sound print worthy of being projected whilst the other, Zwickel auf Bizyckel, languished for 28 years as an edited work print but was reworked by Reinhard Kahn in 1996/97.'' |
