The Spätschicht series will open at the Gropius Bau on 5 June with a live program of concerts, performances and screenings. It will kick off with Queer Ping Pong, a participatory format that combines table tennis with queer club culture. Six ping pong tables will be set up in the atrium. This is more than reason enough for Arsenal to re-screen the docu-soap LE PING PONG D'AMOUR by and with Team Ping Pong (Elfe Brandenburger, Esther Buss, Katja Eydel, Stephan Geene, Monika and Stefan Rinck, Klaus Weber, Cornelia and Mano Wittmann and others). Part 1 (Style, Work, Money, Love) begins with a shared flat community balancing between the fantasy of being busy “young entrepreneurs” (start-up) and real life. In Part 2 (Ideological State Apparatuses), five years have passed. The roommates, who have all become rich, meet up again. They move into the Rodin Museum together. In Part 3 (The Mission), five years later, everyone is dispersed, but this time around the world: Damascus, Togo, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Cameroon, Berlin. (stss)
