Promis le ciel

The AFRIKAMERA – Current Cinema from Africa film festival and Arsenal, which has been its main venue, have been closely associated since 2009. This year's program focuses on "Change", with films that address common gender roles and their structural and social implications, questioning existing power relations and established norms. The emphasis is on films by female directors and those who identify as female. The opening will take place as an Arsenal on Location special at City Kino Wedding and PROMIS LE CIEL will be presented. The second feature film by French-Tunisian director Erige Sehiri, which opened the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes this year, tells the moving story of African migrant women on their own continent from a female North African perspective.
