The organisation "Art for the World" celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the short-film series STORIES ON HUMAN RIGHTS (Dec. 10). 22 directors from around the world (including Marina Abramovic, Pipilotti Rist, Apichatpong Weerasethakul) were asked to deal with the theme of human rights. In the categories "dignity and justice", "gender", "environment", "participation", "development", and "culture", an impressively diverse range of films were produced that in an artistic or documentary fashion seek to give the audience an understanding of human rights.
The screenings will take place within the frame of the festivities in connection with the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights organised by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung together with Amnesty International Germany. (Daniela Hinze)
