Rising Stars, Falling Stars – We Must Have Music: "Babes on Broadway"

In iher monthly series presenting music highlights from the Arsenal's archive "Curatorial Mother" Vaginal Davis will be showing Busby Berkeley and Vincente Minnellis musical BABES ON BROADWAY (USA 1941, 118', OF) on July 22. Michael Baute recalls, "Mickey Rooney asks July Garland whether she'd like to sing him a song. She says, "How do you know I sing?" He says, "You sing when you talk, and you dance when you walk, and when I look in your eyes, I see a song." As always, there will be drinks and music after the show, served by Ms. Davis personally.
