A film like a requiem. The detritus left behind by the defeated Iraqi invading army: tanks and military equipment shot to pieces, destroyed settlements and streets, burning oil wells, contaminated ground in Kuwait, where extinguishing teams with special tools try to put out the fire. Survivors give accounts of torture and suffering, it is a journey into darkness, a lament about mistreated creation. There is no aestheticization of violence, but rather the heightened depiction of a human-made catastrophe.
