A portrait of cinema legend Maria Stadler, who singlehandedly ran a movie theater in Endorf, Bavaria. In a constant battle against falling audience numbers and rising debts, she stops at nothing to keep the theater running, selling tickets while also operating the projector, chopping wood for the heater, and organizing rock concerts or puppet shows. Her exhaustive efforts keep the cinema alive as a gathering place for the rural community.
