The program brings together four films that explore the relationship between technological developments and extraction in various different ways WARNINGS TO THE DISTANT FUTURE is about the search for the East German/West German nuclear waste repository, navigating warning signs and communication problems. KATABASIS combines analogue, camera-less techniques with digital methods such as algorithmic montage. In INTO THE MAGNETIC FIELDS, interventions in landscape and space come across the atmosphere—posthuman modes of production meet visions of Afrofuturism and magnetism. In WHERE GRAVITY FADES, three performers use both spontaneous and rehearsed movements to search for forms, workflows, calculation and value creation. At the beginning of the 20th century, in the wake of industrialization, the movement sequences of workers – in Russia as well as the US – were researched and optimized. The film takes us all the way to the moon. (Sandra Schäfer)
