Nicolas Sawalo Cissé’s moving feature film LA MÉMOIRE DU MANGUIER, which was shot at the Village des Arts in Dakar, tells a universal story about memory, community and intergenerational solidarity. Imam Habibi is a highly respected figure who keeps the community in his neighborhood together. Under a large mango tree, he listens to people's concerns and advocates for their well-being. His life changes fundamentally when he is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Now, the locals decide to support him and return some of the care he has given them over the years.
