El Hadj Salifou Ouédraogo has been planting baobabs in his village in western Burkina Faso for about 50 years. What began as an unconventional personal project became his life’s work: now over 80 years old, he is thought to have planted more than 4,600 of these trees, whose existence in the African savanna is under threat. This is a documentary about an extraordinary commitment to nature, patience, perseverance and the relationship between humans and landscape.
