Shengelaia’s most recent film is in three parts. THE WELL is set in a narrow street in the old part of Tbilisi. While construction workers dig a hole whose purpose no one can agree on, the street becomes a stage for the small everyday dramas of the local inhabitants. In SONG, a group of wedding singers is given a song as a gift and becomes a force for peace with their singing. BIRDS is a parable about being connected to nature and freedom.
