It’s a Friday when Nino (Théodore Pellerin) suddenly learns that he has cancer and should start chemotherapy as early as Monday. After locking himself out of his apartment, he wanders through Paris by day and by night, visiting his mother (Jeanne Balibar) to celebrate his 28th birthday, and an ex-girlfriend, attending a party with friends, going to a public shower, and a flea market, where he runs into a former classmate with her son. Still in shock, he can barely say a word, let alone talk about his illness. But the film creates an opportunity for him to open up, confide in someone and talk about the fear that is suffocating him — it is sensitive, moving and has a touch of humor. (bik)
