Pictoplasma Festival

Since 1999, Pictoplasma has been bringing together international perspectives from the worlds of illustration, animation, art and design and shaping the discourse on contemporary traits. This year's theme is Character Stories, with a focus on characters as the starting point for visual narratives and on what characters reveal about genres, media and possible futures. After the three-day trade conference, on May 10 silent green will open to a broader audience for Open House Sunday, which will comprise a market, exhibition, workshops and meet-ups, as well as the screening of 85 international animated films in six curated programs—three of which will be screened at Arsenal. The films showcase the breadth of contemporary animation. (Lars Denicke)
