Within the framework of the exhibition "Bigger Than Life. Ken Adam's Film Design" this month's Filmspotting edition pays tribute with a double feature to the award-winning production designer Ken Adam. Andreas-Michael Velten's portraitKEN ADAM, PRODUCTION DESIGNER (D 1990) gives an insight into the artist's work and his eventful life between Berlin, Hollywood and London. What are legendary are the sets that Adam made for several James Bond films, like for example the ludicrous space station for MOONRAKER 007 (Lewis Gilbert, GB/F 1979). Roger Moore, the famous secret agent, is not only sent around the world to find the missing Moonraker shuttle, but also into space. Bond girl Lois Chiles plays a double game as the astronaut Dr. Holly Goodhead. (ah) (23.3.)
