Everyday reality for women in East and West Germany: In FRAUEN-LEBEN (FRG 1980), part of their long-term documentary "Prosper-Ebel – Chronik einer Zeche und ihrer Siedlung" Christa Donner and Gabriele Voss get miners' wives to talk about their lives. "There was always work - more than enough. In the home, in the garden, with the children, the husband," says one. These discussions with women from three generations shed light on the changes and continuities in the lives of women. For her part, in her graduation film from the Babelsberg film school HINTER DEN FENSTERN (DDR 1983), Petra Tschörtner frequents three married couples in their 30s who live in a high-rise in Potsdam, and allows them to reflect on their lives. Leaving space for desires, longing but also self-criticism. (ft) A CineGraph Babelsberg event in conjunction with the German Film Archive and the Deutsche Kinemathek. With an introduction by Britta Hartmann. (21.3.)
