In the West African diaspora in Paris, a politically active group decided to turn their back on factory work in the mid 70s, do apprenticeships with French farmers, and found the "Somankidi Coura" collective in Mali. Mauritanian director Sidney Sokhona dedicated the feature SAFRANA OU LE DROIT À LA PAROLE (1978) to them, a collective work in which protagonists from the diaspora themselves play central roles. Following the film, there will be a discussion between Raphaël Grisey, artist and filmmaker, and Bouba Touré, photographer, co-founder of the Somankidi Coura cooperative, and an actor in the film. The screening is part of the "Becoming Cooperative Archives" exhibition program. www.archivekabinett.org/>;www.archivekabinett.org(rg) (4.7.)
