Due the impression made by the much invoked "golden age" of US pay television, the necessary renewal of the German television series has been the subject of considerable discussion over the last years. Today, seven years after Dominik Graf’s milestone "Im Angesicht des Verbrechens" (2010), a new generation of German television series makers is at work, most of whom with make clear reference to the American model. With Serial Germany, the dffb and their post-graduate program Serial Eyes is seeking to enter into conversation with those working in current productions. The questions here include production conditions, the role of the “American model”, but also what serial narration means in both aesthetic and social terms. We are expecting guests Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries, Uli Hanisch, Marvin Kren, Hanno Hackfort, Richard Kropf, Bob Konrad, Christian Schwochow, Oliver Kienle, Jana Burbach, Jan Galli, Jan Bonny, Alex Wissel, and Hans-Christian Schmid. Individual episodes from different series will be shown to accompany the program (ch) (10.–12.11.)
