To celebrate her 70th birthday, we are honoring Helke Misselwitz with a film evening, presenting four of her documentaries. In her work, she observes the daily life of ordinary people and introduces us to extraordinary personalities, talking to them about their longings and dreams. The essay film TANGO-TRAUM (GDR 1985) explores the myth of tango. AKTFOTOGRAFIE Z.B. GUNDULA SCHULZE (GDR 1983) is about an artist who arranges female nudes to create portraits of their personalities. In WER FÜRCHTET SICH VORM SCHWARZEN MANN (GDR 1989), viewers become acquainted with the workers of a private coal business in Prenzlauer Berg, which is run and maintained resolutely and lovingly by a woman. In MEINE LIEBE, DEINE LIEBE (G 1996) the inhabitants of the "Marie Seebach" nursing home for stage artists in Weimar look back on their lives in entertaining and moving episodes. (jh) (4.9.)
