A two-months film series at cinema Arsenal in Berlin reflects the Forum's passion for American independent filmmaking. A selection of groundbreaking films span three decades of the Forum's pioneering work in this field, which brought early awareness to such filmmakers as Jim Jarmusch, Michael Moore, Gus Van Sant, and Todd Solondz.
Maria Speth's "Madonnen" in German cinemas
Maria Speth's Madonnen will be theatrically released in Germany on Dec 6. In October the film was awarded the film prize of the state of Hesse.
"Chrigu" awarded Zurich Film Prize
During the annual Zurich Film Awards, Jan Gassmann's Chrigu received the main jury prize from the city of Zurich, worth 30.000 euros.
Further festival awards for "The Halfmoon Files"
Philip Scheffner's The Halfmoon Files picked up awards in Duisburg (Germany) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). Even after its theatrical release in Germany the film is being shown internationally at film festivals.
"Campaign" to live up to its name
Kazuhiro Soda’s documentary Campaign (Senkyo) is still travelling the festival circuit and can soon be watched on TV all over the world.

Stefan Schwietert's Suisse-German co-production Heimatklänge (Echoes of Home) is one of ten nominees for the European Film Award in the documentary category.
arsenal experimental welcomes the glamouros Miss Davis!
On Sunday, Oct. 21st at 9pm the in/official queen of Hollywood in Exile, Drag Artista d'Excellence, Vaginal Davis, presents G.W. Pabst's DIE BÜCHSE DER PANDORA (1928/29) and with this opens her new 1920s film series "Rising Stars, Falling Stars" at Cinema Arsenal.
FIPRESCI award winner "Jagdhunde" in theatres
Ann Kristin Reyels' feature debut Jagdhunde (Hounds), which picked up the FIPRESCI award in the Forum 2007, will soon be theatrically released in Germany (Oct 18, 2007) and France (Dec 12, 2007).
Forum films in theaters
Three films from the recent Forum programme will be theatrically released in Germany on 11th October: Heimatklänge (Echoes of Home) by Stefan Schwietert, Klopka (The Trap) by Srdan Golubović, and Nachmittag (Afternoon) by Angela Schanelec.
