Conference: "Peak Preview" at HAU
Towards the African Film Summit: During the Berlinale, on February 12, a conference at HAU will be the platform for experts from various countries to discuss the upcoming Johannesburg event, the future of African Cinema and European involvement. The conference language is English.
Louis Malle's "Place de la République" with Guests
As a special screening the 36th Forum presents the documentary Place de la République (1972-1974), opening a retrospective of Louis Malle films at Kino Arsenal after the Berlinale. For the one-time screening Malle's son Manuel and his mother Gila von Weitershausen are expected in Berlin.
Forum Meeting Place: HomeBase Independent Lounge
After its underground start in 2004, the HomeBase Lounge was the official Panorama Lounge last year. In 2006 the HomeBase is the meeting place for all guests and friends of Panorama, Short films, Teddy and Forum.
Special Prizes in Sundance for "In Between Days" and "Dear Pyongyang"
The Sundance Film Festival's Special Prize for Independent Vision went to In Between Days by So Yong Kim. The World Cinema Documentary Jury additionally presented a Special Prize to Dear Pyongyang by Yang Yong-hi. Both films will have their European premiere at the 36th Forum.
CORRIDOR X: Angela Melitopoulos at the KW and Forum expanded
The Installation CORRIDOR X is part of the collaborative project Timescapes. The film - a road movie in double projection - will be screened at Forum expanded in the cinema Arsenal.
Meggie Schneider's Hobbykeller at Forum 2006
For this year's Berlin International Film Festival Meggie Schneider will be realising her third art project in the foyer of the Filmhaus, a room installation with video projections called "Hobbykeller" (recreation room).
The Program of the 36th Forum
Innovative narrative forms and new currents in world cinema are the special focus of the Berlinale Forum. Among the 40 films in the program are 20 world premieres and 8 debut works.

On the launching of the new website, arsenal experimental presents on the 19th and 20th January 2006 a program with experimental film and video art and installations from Berlin.
Sharon Lockhart at Programm Forum expanded
One of the renowned artists represented by arsenal experimental is Sharon Lockhart. Her latest work, PINE FLAT (USA/D 2005, 16mm, color, 137 min. 41 sec.) can be seen in The Berlin International Film Festival 2006's new platform Forum expanded.
