On Wednesday February 6, the 14th Forum Expanded opens its doors with the group exhibition "ANTIKINO (The Siren’s Echo Chamber)" at the new Betonhalle at silent green as well as the Ebensperger Rhomberg gallery and the Luxoom Lab, both of which are located on the same grounds. Until March 9, new works by Monira Al Qadiri, Heike Baranowsky, James Benning, Félix Blume, Harun Farocki, Denise Ferreira da Silva and Arjuna Neuman, Shadi Habib Allah, Catherine Sullivan, Clarissa Thieme, Diana Vidrascu, Ute Waldhausen, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Evan Calder Williams and Anne Low, Billy Woodberry, Ala Younis und Akram Zaatari are on display.

On February 7, the exhibition SHADOW CIRCUS by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam opens at SAVVY Contemporary.

This year's video installation at the Marshall McLuhan Salon of the Canadian Embassy, NOTES TO SELF by Christina Battle opens on the same day.

The Forum’s objectives have always included the idea of looking at film history from the point of view of contemporary cinema. Living archive work produces new things of all kinds.

More and more films are being digitised and restored. This doesn’t just allow significant moments from cinema to be called to mind, but also enables existing film historical narratives to be reconsidered in a present marked by transmediality and globalisation. The title “Archival Constellations” is at once an expression of this interplay between old and new and a reference to the collaborations and acts of community and solidarity which enable digitisation to help rewrite film history.
