From July 20 to 23, artists, filmmakers, curators, researchers, and archivists will present and discuss elements of a latent cinema: unfinished film projects. Films that remained unseen. Film ideas that were realized in non-filmic media. The heterogeneous material deposits and precarious traces of these practices circumvent the conventional understanding of cinema - its materials, institutions and professions, its socio-political functions, its histories, and futures. (Philip Widman)
Film Undone. Elements of a Latent Cinema was conceived by Philip Widmann and is taking place in collaboration with Arsenal, the Harun Farocki Institute and the Open City Documentary Festival in London. Supported by the Capital Cultural Fund (HKF), the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe and Stiftung Kulturwerk of VG Bild-Kunst. Further information: www.latent-cinema.net
