Following the short film programme “AI REALISMS”, which is part of the Forum Special “Be Human Only, Dish Out the Truth” and shows five types of aesthetic exchange between artists and AI models, there will be a discussion: about the clash between image description and image calculation, that has transported filmmaking into a new dimension.
The panel brings together filmmakers who treat AI not as an isolated technological topic, but as an aesthetic, political and social infrastructure: as a means of production, as a machine that suggests certain ways of seeing and reproduces, reinforces or even makes visible imbalances.
The discussion invites us to understand AI in cinema as a conflictual arena where questions of truth, responsibility, visibility and artistic freedom are coming to a head in new ways.
