Anita – Tänze des Lasters

The nude dancer Anita Berber caused a sensation in 1920s Berlin with her eccentric and uncompromising manner. With hindsight, she embodies this wild time between war, inflation, sexual liberation and drug intoxication. Rosa von Praunheim frames his homage to this radical figure by telling the story of an old woman in a psychiatric hospital. Played by Lotti Huber, the patient thinks she is Anita Berber. Her fantasies quote the imagery of expressionist silent film and are expressively staged by cinematographer Elfi Mikesch.
