“In the film, it’s about finding a point outside the family from which Roswitha can set the world on fire. Initially, she lives a cramped life between the apartment where she lives and the illegal abortion practice with which she finances the family’s living costs. […] The practice has to close and Roswitha turns her attention to other things.” (Lukas Foerster). “I remember that the first Munich screening of KAMPF UM EIN KIND took place at Cinemonde in 1975 and was attended by Alexander Kluge (and also Helmut Färber). In both films, documentary and fictional passages alternate. The programming of GELEGENHEITSARBEIT EINER SKLAVIN is also meant as a tribute to the wonderful Alexandra Kluge.“ (Engström)
