The artist duo Distruktur (Melissa Dullius und Gustavo Jahn) explore the aesthetic possibilities of analogue film in their works. Their oeuvre transcends the boundaries between art and film, experimentation and narrative, still images and moving ones. In their combination of film, photography and performance elements, narratives rich in associations emerge that shift between documentary and surrealist gestures and thus inscribe a mysterious dimension into their films. The feature-length ORÁCULO follows the movements of three figures on an intensive search for the meaning of life. Various locations by the sea are unfurled in all their beauty and are woven into the portrait of three figures in different situations in life: one man is trapped in a cycle of life and death, another man visits a place where a change occurred that can’t be undone and a young woman begins her life as an artist. A contemplative work that invites the viewer to think about universal themes such as family, beginnings and ends, pain and trauma. (ara)
