Jan Krüger’s second feature was planned as an “experimental erotic essay”, with a simple premise: a young gay couple on a bike tour though an isolated area of Brandenburg lose their way. A microbudget road movie develops from this idea, with every detail striving towards openness: hallucinations, erotic power games, invented myths, an unreliable framing perspective, and not least a sequence shot accompanied by a Handel aria forge new relationships between landscapes and bodies, materiality and fantasies.
