Amie Siegel uses dual projection to juxtapose scenes from East German state film studio (DEFA) films with shot-for-shot remakes. Familiar places appear in an unfamiliar, newly constructed historical context. Berlin Remake thus opens up a range of associations in which real places and cinema landscapes combine to reveal history in the architectural structures.
