A fleeting instant on the beach of Uzaï, a suburb in southern Beirut. Kids play amongst the waves. All of it could take place somewhere else, but it is happening right here.
The Children of Uzaï, Anti-Narcissus takes as its object the glorious body of childhood and preadolescence through a musing moment, an instant that could well be eternity. Sensations are summoned, emotions seek inscription. It is a stream of images flowing into the sea, taking the form of an elegy, a hymn to life. Here, all the foreshadowed forms of death are fought.
