This year’s edition of the Forum Special programme “Fiktionsbescheinigung” is largely screening films from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Filmmakers Cana Bilir-Meier (ZWISCHENWELT, Forum Expanded 2023), Cem Kaya (AŞK, MARK VE ÖLÜM – LOVE, DEUTSCHMARKS AND DEATH, Panorama 2022) and Yüksel Yavuz (MEIN VATER, DER GASTARBEITER, Forum Special 2023) talk about the similarities and differences they notice between back then and now – in view of work opportunities, recognition, aesthetics, subjects and alliances.
