Hygiene Policy for Arsenal cinemas 1+2 at the Filmhaus (Potsdamer Platz)

The hygiene policy for the Arsenal cinemas is geared towards the ninth amendment to the SARS-CoV-2 Containment Measures Directive of May 28th, 2020 and the specifics of the Arsenal cinema premises.

Entry to the auditorium
No entry to the auditorium is permitted once the screening has begun.

Entering and exiting the Filmhaus
The entrance to the Arsenal cinemas on the second basement level can be accessed via the revolving door on the ground floor of the Filmhaus. The door is either completely open or in revolving mode, with contactless entry to the Filmhaus guaranteed in both cases. The right-hand door to the Sony Center Forum serves as the sole exit. A clearly visible marking labelled “EXIT” has been put.

Important: A mask covering the nose and mouth must be worn to enter the Filmhaus and the Arsenal foyer.

Foyer
A minimum distance of 1.5 m is to be observed in the foyer. This applies to the entire foyer area as well as to the use of the seating there.

Distance markings
Markings on the floor in front of the box office and the entrance to the cinema are intended to make sure that the appropriate distance is observed when queuing and to guide visitors in the correct direction. Cinemagoers are requested to enter the cinema auditorium after buying their ticket.

Plexiglas screens at the box office
Plexiglas screens have been installed at both cash registers at the Arsenal box office to protect cinemagoers and staff.

Online ticketing
Tickets for Arsenal events can be purchased online via the button on the home page of the Arsenal website. The corresponding receipt is sent via email.
Cinemagoers are requested to make use of the online ticket service or to make a reservation via telephone to avoid crowds forming in the evening as far as possible.
Reserved tickets must be picked up from the box office 20 minutes before the start of the screening at the lastest.

Allocated seating
Seat numbers will be allocated to ensure that the minimum distance of 1.5 m is maintained at the Arsenal cinemas. The seat number indicated on the ticket is binding.

Admission to the cinema auditorium
Cinemagoers are admitted by the cinema either via the contactless scanning of online tickets or by tearing off the appropriate ticket strip themselves.

Restricted number of cinemagoers in the auditoria
Individual seats will be sealed off and marked as such to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between cinemagoers at Arsenal 1 & 2. The total number of available seats at Arsenal 1 is 71.

Documenting attendance
Due to the ongoing requirement for all those attending cinema screenings to be documented, including necessary information for contact tracing, cinemagoers are obliged to enter their name and surname, full address and telephone number, day and time of the screening, and their seat number onto the cards provided at Arsenal. The cards and pens will be handed out at the box office together with the tickets or at the entrance to the auditoria. The cards must be filled out before entering the cinema. The completed cards will be collected in a box on hand in the foyer.
The attendance documentation will not be accessible to any third parties, will be stored for a period of four weeks following the respective screening, and will only be released to the relevant authorities on demand if it is ascertained that a person is suspected of having been infectious in line with the infection protection law at the time of the screening. The attendance documentation will be destroyed once the four-week period has passed.

Ventilation
Good ventilation will be ensured before and after screenings by opening the relevant doors. During screenings, only fresh air enters the auditoria via the ventilation system.

Toilets
The distancing regulations also apply in the toilets. In line with hygiene plan, it will be ensured that sufficient liquid soap and single-use hand towels are available.

Exiting the cinemas
To comply with the distancing rules, cinemagoers can leave the cinema via the emergency exit as necessary, especially between consecutive screenings.
