Maream is the mother of four kids, her husband Rachid worked abroad for more than 10 years. From 1978 to 1988 Maream’s way of corresponding with her husband was by sending audio cassettes through people traveling. The cassettes provide intimate and personal details of how a relationship evolved between a couple over the passing of time, and also how a relationship may be changing and challenged, and how these changes can be understood as the direct consequence of the political climate of the country where one leads his or her everyday life. Maream is trying to restore her memory while building her house, seeing the kids growing up in the absence of the father.

Ahmad Ghossein, born 1981 in Beirut, is a filmmaker and video artist. His works have been exhibited, among others, at the MoMA and New Museum in New York, at Kunsthallen in Oslo, Home Works, Beirut, and at the Dubai Film Festival.
