The two-part film shows photographic portraits of children and teenagers in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was created over a period of three years, during which Lockhart closely observed the complexity of her protagonists' small activities, as allowed the overwhelming landscape in which they are rooted to become a photo studio.
