Kika Thorne was born in 1964 in Toronto, Canada, where she currently lives. Her practice oscillates from action to abstraction using sculpture, installation, printmaking, moving image, and social practice. Installations extend her interest in geometry, the visible spectrum, and magnetism as a field upon which to project questions regarding chemical composition and political ramifications. Thorne’s work has been screened globally and exhibited locally. At Forum Expanded 2011, she collaborated with Prinzessinnengärten and b_books to create a bar IST a garden IST a café IST a reading room.
