Forum 50 in Recife

From March 6–10, 2021, the "Janela internacional de cinema do Recife" (Brazil) is showing a selection of films from Berlinale Forum's first edition in 1971.

Entitled "Episódios de Luta", the festival will show five programmes that Berlinale Forum showed as an anniversary programme during its 50th edition last year. Among them are Med Hondo's MES VOISINS, Yolande du Luart's Angela – Portrait of a Revolutionary, Phela-ndaba (End of the Dialogue) by the Pan Africanist Congress, Sarah Maldoror's Monangambeee as well as two films by William Klein (Festival Panafricain d’Alger and Eldridge Cleaver, Black Panther) and The Murder of Fred Hampton by Howard Alk. More information here.

Additionally, on March 9th, there will be a discussion between curator Luís Fernando Moura, Janaína Oliveira and Jacqueline Nsiah (Berlinale Forum Selection Committee).
