Neu im Verleih: The Two Sights

Laut Abspann wurde das Material für The Two Sights zwischen 2017 und 2019 auf den Äußeren Hebriden „gesammelt“. Aber um was für Material handelt es sich? Zum einen sind da die atemberaubenden 16-mm-Landschaftsaufnahmen: Felsklippen, Strände und Ebenen, Pflanzen und Tiere, Häuser und Schiffe, wechselhafte Lichtverhältnisse. Zum anderen – aufgenommen mit einem Mikrofon, das in den ersten Einstellungen zu sehen ist – sind da die Geräusche: kreischende Vögel, brausender Wind, tosendes, gurgelndes, tröpfelndes Wasser – und aus dem Off erzählt eine Stimme, auf Englisch und Gälisch, von Hundeskeletten, versunkenen Dörfern, sterbenden Angehörigen; manchmal erklingen auch Lieder, hört man den Seewetterbericht, oder es herrscht Stille. Wie in jeder guten Sammlung geht es nicht um die einzelnen Bestandteile, es geht um Schnittpunkte, um die Krähe im Stacheldraht, die eine bisher unerzählt gebliebene Geschichte evoziert, um den Gesang einer Frau, der das Wasser leicht zu kräuseln scheint, und es geht darum, dass jede Erzählung von der rauschenden Luft getragen wird. Joshua Bonnetta wurde 1979 in Kanada geboren. Er arbeitet mit analogem Film- und Tonmaterial, das im Rahmen von Kinovorführungen, Performances und Installationen international zur Aufführung kommt.
